Monday Yin Yoga

Monday Yin Yoga

Yin yoga is a non-moving practice. Students are lead through a series of still, seated postures. Postures are held 3-10 minutes. Focus is guided toward releasing all muscle engagement and settling into the pose as much as possible. Props are used to support and protect the body throughout the stillness.

Yin yoga targets the deep connective tissues of the body: tendons, ligaments, fascia, and joints. Yin yoga can help to prevent injury and maintain or improve healthy range of motion in the joints. Also, yin can aid in quelling anxiety and depression as well as overall mood stabilization. Experience the benefits yourself!

Open to all levels, no age requirement.

75 minutes.

Saturday Bhakti Infused Vinyasa Flow Yoga

Saturday Bhakti Infused Vinyasa Flow Yoga

“Vinyasa flow” is a style of yoga where postures transition one into the next. Movement “flows” —if you will, from one posture to the next. “Bhakti” yoga is often to as yoga of love, or yoga of devotion.

In this Bhakti infused Vinyasa practice will start softly with grounding and centering; a moment to check in with our body, mind, and breath. Students are then lead through sun salutations to warm the body and encourage breathing. Standing/balancing postures, backbends, and inversions further invigorate and awaken the body. This playful vinyasa invites students to tap into the strength and stability found deep within their own hearts. Class will conclude with cool-down sequences and postures, shavasana meditation, and mantra with harmonium.

Often, throughout the 75 minutes spiritual nuggets, teachings, shlokas, mantras, and stories from the Bhakti path of yoga will be infused into the practice. Students have the opportunity to participate in Kirtan or simply enjoy the mantra meditation and sound vibrations of the harmonium at the end of class.
